Dominant

Dominant is the blanket term for a Top in any BDSM relationship. This covers any gender as well as all titles from Daddy/Mommy to Owner. Dominant can also refer to someone who takes a Dominant role outside of a "true" relationship, such as a Dominatrix or bedroom Top. 
Dom and Domme 
A Dom or Domme, short for Dominant, are the masculinized and feminized (Male-Dom, Female-Domme) forms of a term which refers to a Dominant in a D/s (Dom/me and submissive) relationship. There are many subcategories of a Dom/me, including (But not limited to) DaddyDom/MommyDomme, Dominus/Domina, and God(dess)Dom(me). However, Dom/me is still the most common form of one in a D/s relationship and is considered "dead center". 
DaddyDom and MommyDomme 
The male and female forms of a Dominant Who participates in a relationship between a Dominant and a submissive who takes the role of a little or babyboy/babygirl. These Dom/mes are usually quite laid back with Their submissive and it is uncommon for Them to be sexual. 
Dominus and Domina 
These titles refer to either the male (Dominus) or female (Domina) Dominants Who are known to be quite strict in Their D/s relationship, or even outside of it. They are commonly sexual (Though it varies from Dominant to Dominant), however They are not overly so. 
GodDom and GoddessDomme 
While still considered taboo (Even in BDSM terms) and fairly rare or uncommon, a GodDom or GoddessDomme refers to an extremely strict Dominant (More so than a Dominus or Domina). One Who claims this title goes for the extremes and will not accept no less than perfection or excellency. They are either sexual or non-sexual, as "in between" or "either or" is not part of this form of Dominantion. It is quite common for one of these Dominants to go as far as marry Their submissive in the vanilla sense, as They have a desire to hold all aspects of a submissive. These Dominants also prefer 24/7 TPE relationships, however not a Master/Mistress and slave relationship, They often have a full list of rules for Their submissive and hold severe punishments if Their submissive were to break a rule. 
Master and Mistress 
This refers to a male (Master) or female (Mistress) Dominant Who has chosen to enter into a M/s (Master/Mistress and slave) relationship. In this relationship, it is purely a 24/7 relationship, and They only collar slaves. In this form of Domination, the Master or Mistress desires that complete control over Their slave, though this is rarely, if ever sexual. The enjoyment and erotic nature for B/both comes purely from the act of giving and receiving control. 
Owner 
An Owner is Someone Who has entered into an O/p (Owner and pet) relationship. An Owner is almost always sexual, however is also more on the Master/Mistress side than Dom/me, as is commonly misconceived. Owners collar out of a desire for control and a pretty thing to have, or "arm candy". 
Dominatrix

Submitter

A submitter is anyone who chooses to give themselves to Another in a power exchange dynamic. Whether it be for a play session or long lasting relationship, this term blankets over all from submissive to pet. 
Submissive 
A submissive is the bottom in a D/s relationship. Every submissive varies on the type of relationship they want and what they are seeking to gain. However, a submissive is always in control in the relationship. This is the most important part of being a submissive, whether they are a Doll, Little, Brat, or anywhere in between, they have the control. Further on the subject, a submissive is the companion to a Dominant. 
Doll 
A Doll is a submissive who strives and pushes them to perfection. They desire to please their Dominant in any way and to never cause themselves to deserve punishment. Like a perfect "doll", they will do everything they can to make their Dominant happy, and in return it is expected of the Dominant to make them happy. More often than not, Dolls seek 24/7 relationships or desire the control a Dominant will have over their wardrobe, as a child would do with a toy doll. 
Brat 
Someone who acts in a "bratty" or cheeky manner towards their Dominant, and at times can go hand in hand with sadomasochism as the brats are usually with desire for a physical punishment or recognition. However, this is not always the case, it is sometimes that a brat is one who enjoys to push a Dominant's patience as far as they are capable. Brats are usually mouthy, sarcastic, and more often than not will pull pranks on their Dominants. They require a strong hand and an intelligent and experienced Dominant in order to guide them. A brat is basically the opposite of a Doll. 
Little 
A Little is a submissive with child-like tendencies. Baby

Difference between BDSM and Gorean

 

On IMVU, there are two different Lifestyles. The BDSM and Gorean. Many places will state that they do not allow Goreans if they are of the BDSM nature. The difference between BDSM and Gorean is quite simple. BDSM is a lifestyle that can and does take place in the real world, no matter the Status of the person participating. As such, different Statuses of the BDSM when compared to Gorean is merely false information. Gorean is based on a book, a fictional work, whereas BDSM is based off of real life experiences and a world filled with kink: Floggers, ropes, whips, and the likes.
